Sustainable management of water basins begins with understanding the natural boundaries that shape our territories — and recognizing our role in preserving these vital resources.
As part of an event organized by Build Green Group Albania, RESU had the opportunity to share its experience and findings from field analyses, including case studies from Lake Ohrid and Lake Prespa.
Drawing on these experiences, we offered valuable recommendations for advancing sustainable water basin management practices in Albania.
Our contribution emphasized two key messages:
- The need for stronger cross-sector cooperation
- The importance of empowering local communities to take an active role in protecting water resources.
By bringing real-world field insights into the discussion, we aimed to bridge the gap between policy, research, and community action — creating a more resilient and sustainable approach to water management.
🌍 A special thank you to Build Green Group Albania for the invitation and for organizing such a dynamic workshop that brought together key stakeholders dedicated to addressing the challenges and opportunities surrounding Albania’s water resources.
