On April 13th, our team spent the day in Rabdisht, a stunning village tucked in the mountains of Dibra. Surrounded by untouched beauty and spring bloom, you might not expect to find plastic waste floating through the village stream — but unfortunately, that was exactly the case.
We came together with local activists and volunteers not only to clean, but to reflect. The stream, once a vital water source, has become a silent carrier of plastic bags, bottles, and household trash. Though we only managed to clean a small portion, it revealed a bigger picture — the systematic nature of environmental pollution and how deeply it can affect even the most remote corners of Albania.
Our work in Rabdisht wasn’t just about physical cleaning — it was about connection. We met residents, listened to their stories, and learned about their daily struggles to maintain the natural balance of their home. We also discussed the need for long-term strategies, including:
- Community-led waste management
- Awareness among younger generations
- Support for villagers from local institutions
This day reminded us that real change starts small, but must continue — through education, through unity, and through the love we show to every corner of our land.
💚 Thank you to @sabri.shahini.5 and @dibraactivists for welcoming us and standing side by side in this journey.
